Question of the Day for Mrs. Scales Class !!!!

Hey guys!!!!! Can you believe I'm in China? This place is really incredible. There are 16,000,000 people in this city alone. We can't hardly understand anyone, so we have to point and do all types of signing with our hands. Okay, here is the question of the day, remember, all the people to tell Mrs. Goins the right answer will win a souvenir from China.

There are two major languages spoken in China, what are they? Good luck and get to searching for that answer. More questions to come later. I miss you guys and I'll talk to you soon!!!

Hey Steph, We could only come up with Mandarin. We didn't research though. You have one student who really wants a prize! Can't wait to see the next post...
Love you, Kristy

Ni-hao Aunt Stephanie! I found out that they speak Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. Here are some more Chinese words. Pinyin-The western way of writing Chinese. Renminbi- the people's money, made of bank notes and coins. Large notes include those for 10,5,and 1 yuan. Medium-sized notes are in jiao. 10 jiao make 1 yuan. Small notes and coins are in Fen.

Have you seen a bicycle park? Have you been to the Beijing Opera? You should go to the Tiananmen, the Gate of Heavenly Peace. It's at one end of the Beijing Square in the middle of the city. You can do some things like take a ferry from Guangzhou to Hainen Island. Sharks and flying fish live in these waters. We love you and Uncle Tyler. Hope you get Olivia soon. Until the next email, Tate

Hi Steph and Ty, Cantonese, Mandarin and Taiwanese (for the islanders off mainland China). Elli is studying The continent of Asia and took chopsticks for everyone in honor of Olivia. Both girls are very excited! Look forward to the next reading! Molli
