Wow!!! We can't believe this day is finally here!!! God has been so faithful to bring us to this point and we give Him our praise for allowing us to rescue this child!!! We are at the Civil Affairs building here and she came straight from the orphanage. The director and her Nannie brought her, so you can imagine how she reacted when the Nannie left - SCREAMED!!!!! Her head has been shaved and she has a severe diaper rash. While we were out strolling, because she HATES to stay in the room, we met a couple from Athens, yes, Athens!!! Any time you meet Americans you stop and talk. They are Billy and Emily Woodall and of all things, he's a doctor. Isn't that just like God to take care of us? We went to their room and he examined her. He said she had a yeast infection and has congestion in her chest. She has really taken to Tyler and isn't that fond of me!!! That was difficult, but even more difficult is to see her cry and not be able to do one thing to console her. As you can see, she loves to suck her fingers. She has cried the entire time we've had her today. She was screaming at one point just a few minutes ago and acting like she wanted to crawl out of my arms, so I put her in her crib and she was INSTANTLY quiet!!! I knew this type reaction could happen, I just wasn't ready for it!!! She won't eat or even take her bottle at this point. We are all going to be just fine!!! I have to brag on Tyler. He has been the best Daddy to her. Even though she's screamed her lungs out, he's been so patient with her. Please pray that God would heal her little heart and she would grow to trust us. We know she will, in her time. I need to get back to the room, Tyler's holding down the crib!!!! We sure do miss home!! We love you all!!!

I'm crying...you know that doesn't happen often!
To say I'm so happy for y'all is the understatement of the year, but I don't know what else to say.
I've prayed for Olivia everytime I've thought of y'all this morning. I'm sure it is so hard right now. Just love her and know we're all praying, too.
I wish I could zap y'all home right now! Post often...or as often as Olivia will allow!

Hey Stephanie,

I just noticed that Olivia and Tyler have the same hair cut!!He He! Love You! Molli
What memories come flooding back as I read your account of meeting Olivia! The grief is so hard to witness first-hand, even if you are prepared for it. We will be praying for your family and especially for your angel-baby Olivia. She is just beautiful, and she will, in time, surrender that little heart to you. Peace and blessings for a wonderful day.

Oh, Olivia is beautiful!!! Praise God! What a precious baby girl! These first few days can be hard, but it gets better and better. Sometimes it takes a few days for them to really eat very good. What a blessing to meet a doctor who could help check Olivia out....God is good! Olivia's hair looks like Clara's when we got her, it had recently been shaved too. Praying for you all!!! I am just so delighted to see Olivia in both of your arms, I know it has been a long wait. Blessings!

Stephanie- I feel your pain so deeply as this reminds me so much of our Karlee. But LISTEN to me- it will get better! She will learn to love you. You fight for her heart just as Christ fought for all of ours. This will be so difficult at times but you are not alone and one day she will call you mama and know what that truly means. Stephanie, I am here. Please don't walk this journey alone. Call me. And tell Tyler to keep hangin in there! Cheerios, dum dum suckers and stickers and bubbles can possibly quiet her some. She is beautiful and God has created you all three for such a time as this! PRAISE THE LORD! You have YOUR daughter!
Tyler & Stephanie, you're prayer request was:"Please pray that God would heal her little heart and she would grow to trust us." ... You got it; we are praying right along beside you, and by faith it will happen real soon!
What a darling daughter you have!!! What a delightful journey this has been and how thrilled we are to see the fulfillment of the three of you into a sweet family.
We're counting down the days until it's our turn to love on our newest beautiful grandchild.
We love the three of you, Gram & Pop.
Stephanie,
I just wanted you to know I am checking in on you guys from Houston daily!
I am so happy for you both, she is absolutely adorable!! And don't worry, everything will settle down as you know from preparing for this journey during the wait!

Had to write again. We met the Woodall's through Lifeline. They were actually supposed to travel with us, same log-in date, but I think they must have changed to special needs. That is amazing how you "bumped" into them while there. Remember God is setting her mind on you more and more every minute. He brought you there. Learn and soak it all in!
Love you all, The Wiggs
I am so excited for you guys!! It is such an incredible day to finally hold the one you have been praying for !! Enjoy every moment. It is awesome to watch God bring families together. Thanks for letting us be a part!!
Love,

She is just beautiful. We are all excited about seeing her at the airport. Thanks for telling us about the doctor and his wife - that was a sweet plan God had for you.
We love you.

Dear Stephanie,
You do not know me but I am on the Waiting China Families list and we JUST got home from China less than 2 weeks ago with our 21 month old son. We also stayed with Angela and she is wonderful. (did you meet her mother?) I am praying for you and Olivia. Our son also preferred Daddy over me at first and it really hurt my heart. We had our 2 bio kids with us as well and it was a LONG 2 weeks, but it does get better! I have to say that the pictures of the food make me happy to be home and the potties- don't even get me started! I am happy you made it up the Great Wall without needing oxygen- WHAT a workout! In the really tough moments, when things may not be going the way you had imagined them to go, remember that God always has a plan and He is the one who destined THIS child to be yours and remember that love is not always a feeling, but a decision. That gets me through every day. One day at a time.
Many blessings,
Holly McDaneld

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER 9-12!!
What a great way to spend a birthday! I hope all your wishes come true!! Love, The Fields
How absolutely PERFECT!!! She is precious...the embodiment of love with skin on!!!! God comes through with our heart's desire and I am so glad to know him...who made your dream come true! I am also thankful to have the opportunity to share in such a special time in your lives. Just know that you have tons of people who can hardly wait to get to know her and love her and spoil her! Olivia....welcome home!!
I have waited for this day for it seems like years. I have prayed that God would give you a child, and He has!! What a blessing!! She is so beautiful! I have to say she looks like Tyler in the picture of them together. Please know that this difficult time will pass and she will grow to trust and love you. My Parker was the same with me when I first started keeping him. It only took a few days for him to cry FOR me instead of crying because I was there. I can't wait for you to get home and visit with us. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!! I love you!!! Deborah
Stephanie,
I have been following your blog everyday and anxiously waiting to see the family photos. Olivia is just beautiful! We are so happy that she is finally in your arms. Stay strong, and this difficult adjustment period will pass. Olivia and Mattley already have something in common...they both love to suck their middle fingers! We are praying for a safe return, and we can't wait to meet Olivia!
Love,
Ashley, Matthew, & Mattley
Hi Tyler and Stephanie!
We are so thrilled for the three of you! We will definitely pray for you in the transitional time. God is so good to knit your family together, that Olivia may grow up loving and trusting her Mommy and Daddy, and seeing faith in Christ lived out daily.

Tears roll down my cheeks as the emotions come flooding back-GOD IS SO GOOD! Olivia is beautiful! You both look so in love with her. It is wonderful to see you both holding her. There is not a feeling in the world like holding God's precious gift for the first time. Continue to hold onto your sweet daughter and each other-love will see you through. You are in our prayers.
